Synopsis:

The book "Learning jQuery : Better Interaction Design and Web Development with Simple JavaScript Techniques" is a must have read for all developers specially if you want to learn JQuery framework during 2/3 weekends :D.

Review:

JavaScript is always a complex reading at least for me. I don't know why I can't keep the patience to read long on Javascripts. But I think this book, made me an exception. I was reading and reading it. But I could not complete few chapters due to my upcoming exam. But I believe, read enough to comment on it.

I heard about JQuery after starting using of Drupal. Then I thought, it must be some powerful thing, as a great CMS like drupal using it. So, interested grew in me to learn it. Sadly, I could not find any concise and well structured online resource. Moreover, I hate reading on screens.

Later, I found the book. Now I believe, I can now work with JQuery. Though i will again start with JQuery after my exam.

In writings the authors urged the developers to apply the graceful enhancement concept in their JQuery projects. Interestingly, they has followed the same philosophy in writing too :D. That I meant, they discuss each new thing with along with the earlier discussed things. So, they did not write brand new examples for each things. Rather, they progressed sequentially and sorting out one after another.

Not a criticism, as a Non-Native English reader I sometimes had to read a sentence (It happens when I read Javascript :-p) several times before understanding it. Thanks to the English Teacher for teaching a bit English too ;).

Google relaunched their Google Code site with a new design and, you guessed it, jQuery under the hood! Google team is now using jQuery for the Google Code site. Maybe it would be an idea to at some point provide plugins for jQuery that wrap the Google APIs in jQuery developer-friendly goodness.
